It’s been one long year, and I’m glad it’s slowly (but gathering pace) coming to a close. A lot has happened in my little life, and yet not much either. My search of finding a piece of property to call my own has finally come to an end. I get the keys next week, and I’m very much looking forward to moving into an empty house. My weekends for most of this year have been to catch up on sleep, and look for houses and property reports. I’m so glad it’s over. But now that it’s over, I find most of my weekends are spent TRYING to sleep and window shopping for things to fill the place. It’s been an experience seeing my bank balance just steadily decrease, and it will decrease drastically next week when the bank comes knocking for the remaining deposit. Fingers crossed it goes well.
I’ve also started a new job, which came as a bit of a surprise, even to me. The process of finding a job happened very quickly, but leaving PLA dragged for a few months. I was quite sad to leave PLA though; I actually don’t think I was ready to leave. You make friends, you get comfortable – too comfortable. But this new job brings more dough in to pay my hefty mortgage, and it also means I no longer become a sardine to get to work on the public transport system.
Things are happening steadily. I’m enjoying myself at work – the people are nice; a younger crowd. It’s crazy though – the workload, the deadlines and the standard of work is pretty high, so I’ve had to lift my game. At the same time, it’s nice to work in a bigger team, and win some pretty good opportunities.
In other news, Kad’s left the country to fly around the world – it feels very strange without her. I didn’t realise how much I’d miss her until she came back last month for a quick stopover. Oh! And Cathy also has a new puppy! It is the cutest thing in the world! It’s at Sang’s place at the moment until I get my keys. It’ll be nice to have a puppy around, me thinks.
