Back home

And so it goes, that I am home. I flew back on Friday afternoon, and I have been sleeping to make up for last week. I have yet to even unpack my suitcase for now. I managed to catch up with Jany Friday morning. Picked her up from the airport before I handed my keys back, and then we had brunch at The Grounds in Alexandria. Great food, great company, great weather - what more could I ask for? Headed into work for lunch afterwards, and the Apple crew had organised a BBQ for me.

It was really sad to say bye bye to Terry & Duriye, before Terry gave me a DVD he had created. It had snippets of everyone in the warehouse wishing me well, before Terry said some words. He saved Bronwyn for last, and her words touched me. He filmed her right by the 10kg block of Cadbury chocolate in her office; had her sit on the floor, and she looked so sad saying her farewell to the camera. I'm definitely going to miss her the most. They really did feel like my extended family up there, and I know I won't have the same thing in Melbourne. I mean, who else would pull down their pants to show their underwear other than Bronwyn, or who would say the most inappropriate things to get a laugh, or have a dig at me to get a reaction? The DVD touched me - it was a beautiful gesture, and there was nothing that could've topped that as a farewell. Terry had also included the film he created when we went to Hong Kong in May, as well as the filming as we upgraded the warehouse earlier this year. It brought back a lot of memories.

And so that concludes the Sydney chapter.

It's nice to be home. The dogs are ultra cute, the weather has been great. The house is a mess, but I'll clean over the coming weeks to rid it of all this clutter. We celebrated Cathy's birthday last night, and was good to see Nhan and Aisa as well.

It feels good to be home.
