What a wonderful wedding. What an exhilarating day. I was so happy to see Nhan and Aisa so happy on their day. The weather held out too - windy, but no rain. Nhan wasn't nervous at all. Aisa walked down the aisle to U2's All I want is You. His vows took my breath away. It was vulnerable, tender, loving. It was beautiful.
Mum and Dad had a great day too. They even jumped into the harlem shake. Awesome. The competition they won with the videographer was so cute. They did Anna Kendrik's cup song. The food was amazing, the band was good, the bridal dance was very snazzy - I never knew Nhan had such moves(!) - as they danced to Otis Redding's That's How Strong My Love Is. The father and daughter dance was sweet; Nhan grabbed Mum onto the dance floor, and I danced with Dad while Dave danced with Aisa's mum. They even did the garter throwing.
They had so many personal touches - we all received personalised messages on our place cards. There was a photo booth to leave Nhan & Aisa your memories for the night and wishes, and the final photo book turned into a gem. We did the cleanup at the end of the night, and sat with Viv & Sheree for some quiet time while waiting for their cab.
I'll remember this day for the rest of my life.
A few quotes I'll always remember my brother saying:
"We've had our ups and downs. I've broken your heart - I've given you mine."
"If I answered the first question I asked you after we got together, my answer would be: until the last of our days."
"I used to think marriage was just another certificate, but, now that I'm living through it, it feels so much than that. I can't wait to wake up in the morning to start our new life with my wife, and to wake up every morning like this for the rest of my life."
For now, I'll leave with a sneak peek of the wedding photos. The wind came in handy:
