Coffee helps in your hour of need

I changed over my bags Tuesday morning because I remembered I had to bring home a few work backup tapes and books, which would not have fitted into my new bag from Winnii. Grabbed my stuff, and ran out the door before I missed my train.

I had an extra long day at work that day in which I had to go see a client. It was scheduled to go for an hour, but then turned into a four hour fiasco, where I also had to reschedule another client. Finished work at 7:30pm, and took a taxi to go home. I called Lee on the way home, and she said the girls were dropping by, so I thought I'd drop by too. I hadn't seen her since she returned from Viet Nam on the weekend.

Saw moomoo, and my oh my. He's so big now! And still adorably cute! He can blow kisses now, what a charmer! The girls came over, we caught up, and then Lee got sick. So, as responsible friends, Jenny, Trinh, Winnii and I stayed over to make sure little moomoo and his mummy was ok. Trinh slept in the bedroom with little moomoo, Lee took up half of her sofa, Jenny slept on Lee's legs, Winnii slept on Jenny's legs, and I slept on Winnii's legs.

Woke up in the morning, headed to work. Jen and I were supposed to catch the 7:22am train, which would have gotten me to work at about 8am. Considerate Jen realised this, and decided we should catch the 7:42am train instead. Which we did. I got to work at about 8:30am. With my coffee in hand. All ready set to work.

There is usually always someone already in the office by the time I show up to work, no matter what time I start. Scott usually starts at 7:30am if not earlier, Sam and Tim at 8am, so when I usually rock up, the office is unlocked.

It just so happened on that very morning that Scott was working from home, Sam was still on leave, Nic and Tim were in Sydney for the day, Paul was working at the library, and Rich was working from home. Which left Nerida and I in the office by ourselves.

Fumbling around for my keys in my stuffed bag filled with work crap, I found my house key. Which was a good sign. But no work key. Thinking, thinking. My work key was in my other work bag. That I had left at home when I switched bags Tuesday morning.

So I sat and waited for Nerida in the cold morning chilly air. Drinking my coffee. At least my coffee kept me warm.

That will teach me.
