What a wonderfully small world!

I was reminded again last week of what a small world we live in. Or Melbourne anyway. Winnii has been working hard in the past two months to make a keeper of a friend out of a guy who works near her. He started off as the cute boy who works in the cafe back in December. Then the cute boy turned into Daniel. Now they're very good friends. So good, in fact, he's been on the lookout for single guy-friends for the single girls, and has even asked Winnii, Jen and I to go to Sydney to meet one of his friends (with a few other guys).

I've met him before while working at Kookai, and I even remember spotting him out as the cute fella while shopping during Christmas. Nice guy, very sweet. Being very protective of her friend, she slowly introduced Daniel to the girls. Last Thursday, he was invited over for dinner for the first time.

It was after dinner that Daniel realised we had met before. Years before. Many, many times before. It turns out he is a part of my brother's circle of friends. I do remember Daniel now. Upon further investigation and many questions asked of my brother, I remember Daniel now. I have two memories of him years ago back at university. My first memory of him was the first time ever meeting him and thinking he was quite cute and nice. The second memory I have of Daniel was in the university parking lot with my brother and most of his friends, watching Daniel drive his brand new shiny manual celica.. When he couldn't drive manual. We all watched him try to drive his car, only to then end up ramming it into another car..

Upon further conversation with Daniel that night, I also found out that I knew most the guys he was planning on introducing Winnii to.. And the guys we may have gone up to Sydney with.. I know them too. And his friend up in Sydney - you got it.. I know him too.

Yep. It sure is a small world.

In other news, I went to Waratah Bay over the Easter weekend. We went the wrong way, actually, on the way down. Tony, who was still drunk from Thursday night, woke up at about 2pm in the car, and looked at the road, only to say, 'Oh.. We're heading the wrong way...' Kad, Trinh and I start laughing, knowing Tony is STILL drunk, but we all shut up when Nikki slowed right down, and did a U-turn. Hehehe. We were on the C455 highway, when we were supposed to be on the C445 highway. Backtracked for half an hour. When we finally made it, Tony had to give Jenny directions the following night, and he was saying, 'You gotta go on the C440, then the C444, and then the C445, but not the C455. Did you hear me? Let me say it again..'

So then we gambled, drank, and smoked the entire weekend. Very relaxing. Oh, and remember how I said I was a fortune cookie 'coz I give others luck? We played three rounds of poker the first night, and Niks, Tony and Kad won... So, in effect, they took my money. Although, I did win in thirteen the following night. I was up by all of $1. Yep. It's become my lucky dollar :)
