Constant hibernation, not consternation

It's been a while since I updated this. It's been thrice as long since I've updated the flickr site. The camera has been getting really good use from Nhan, who has some wonderful pictures of Rocky, and some even more hilarious pictures from his surprise birthday party last month. I really should get on his laptop to grab those pictures. Some good memories there.

I read through all my blog entries last week. Nikki was right when she said I would look back on these moments with fondness. I just can't believe how much I travelled when I was 24. That seems so long ago considering I'm now 26, but I need only look back 13 months to remember that hectic lifestyle. How times have changed. How I myself have changed.

I'm catching up with Carolina tonight, and I can't wait. She's just bought an apartment; settlement is in a few months, and I can't wait to see it. I saw Winnii and Luong's new acquisition on the weekend, and that was a little gem as well. I shall equip myself with the camera and bombard their brand new place to mark the end of it's 'never been lived in' reign.

I'm slowly awaking from my hibernation. Slowly. Very slowly. I have been living off Kad and Trinh's stories the past six months or so - it actually exhausts me just hearing of their adventures. I don't know how they do it, jumping from one party to the next. But I'm not envious of those stories - I deliberately stopped networking and socialising. My life, and everything in it, has been steady this year. No major ups or downs, and I'm merrily continuing on along at my own pace, chipping off little accomplishments and the like patiently along the way.

No goss, no funny moments, no news, no pictures. My life at the moment is completely uneventful. And I love it. And I love not being pressured into doing things. No pressure from the girls to go out and be wild and party. It's nice to do what I want, with the people I want, and go along in my quiet way. Enjoying the quieter things in life at the moment.

Oh. One thing did happen this past month. I turned 26. And, as is my life and current situation at the moment, that too was characteristically uneventful. And I loved it. Jenny, Trinh, Luong and Winnii celebrated the landmark occasion at Jen's place.. Without me. I was at home having dinner with the family, and that was delicious. Yum!

I do suspect that I will start to have better news and better entries next time I write in this little thing. Any event would be better than this entry. I'm not complaining though: I'm loving this habitual peace and serenity that is my life at the moment.

Cheers til next time!
