Making peace

I got a call from Bronwyn Friday evening. It came as a bit of a surprise, because I had accepted that we wouldn't be communicating anymore. She called to make peace, and apologise for ignoring me these past 4 months. It was the first time I had spoken to her since I told her I resigned back in December. She took my resignation harder than most..

I asked what made her change her mind. It turned out to be Greg, of all people. He had been urging her to call me for months now. Was nice to hear even Duriye and Craig encouraged her to do the same.

It was a bit awkward talking to her at first, because it had been so long. I certainly wasn't going to justify why I resigned, because frankly, it's got nothing to do with her. She just said she was cranky and needed her own space. I was a little annoyed at her behaviour, but it's all good now. She even invited me to stay at her place if I'm ever up in Sydney, which was sweet.

I don't think it'll ever be the same though. I kind of don't really trust her now. Actually no, I do trust her, but I'd rather keep her at arms' length. She stopped talking to me because I resigned. She felt I should've stayed longer, and be loyal. I understand where she's coming from, but at the end of the day, I left for my own reasons. She even admits now that it's not the same company anymore, and morale is super low.

After the initial awkwardness, we ended up talking like we used to: highly inappropriate conversation. Looking back at it, I don't think I'll ever be able to talk like that to anyone at this new company. Hehe.

I'm taking Yuki to the vet again today. He has another ear infection. Poor boy.

In other news, it was Mum's birthday yesterday. We took her down to see the Twelve Apostles on Saturday, and she LOVED the drive down there. Took the scenic route down through the Great Ocean Rd. Must remember to do this kind of stuff more often.
