Mixing business with pleasure

It's been two weeks since I returned from Singapore. Already. I suppose the comfort in that time is that it's now less than four weeks before I fly again. Actually, it appears I'll be heading down to Melbourne in a few weeks. Gosh, I've been missing the little boys heaps lately. I've even been dreaming of them. It's times like that where I think how I can live in this city without them. Poor little boys.

Time in Singapore felt like a world away from reality. I suppose that's better than being more than a world away. For a short time, time seemed to stop, and everything went in slow motion. The flight over to Singapore felt like slow motion. Falling asleep alone in the hotel that first night felt like time was ticking away very very slowly. Time in the office on Thursday went extremely slowly, despite how busy we were with IT. Steamboat in the evening with Jocelyn and Terry felt like the sands of time ticking away. Slowly, slowly.

A nap in the hotel Thursday night was ultra slow.

And then time stopped.

And for the briefest moment, I walked in a dream through the next few days. Armed with a new mini Polaroid, and roaming Singapore with a trusted local, it felt like a world away from reality. We headed to Dempsey Road Friday evening, and got lost wandering around the complex in search for a bar. Saturday morning, we had breakfast in the botanical gardens, before we shopped, and had coffee.. somewhere at a place called Forty Hands. Had some local Katong Laksa that evening before an early night.

It was a brief trip, but every minute counted, and every minute mattered. A trip to remember.
