Still in hospital

It's been almost two weeks since Dad had his operation. He's still in hospital. I visited him tonight, just as he was falling asleep. They've started him on a new set of antibiotics today. For some reason, he believes one of the doctors told him he could possibly be discharged tomorrow. I don't really see that happening. He's still quite tired standing up for a few minutes, and is still on the oxygen. When I spoke to the nurse on call, she couldn't see him being discharged tomorrow. She thinks he's too weak to do anything at home, and certainly not ready yet.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that.. He was pretty frustrated yesterday, from being in hospital, from being monitored, from not having any independence. He told Nhan to come pick him up. He told Cathy to sneak him out. He got upset at everything.

It's been a roller coaster ride. And he'll need to be monitored as well once he's discharged.

So much has happened this month. So much.
