No news, so a ramble will have to do to escape actually working

And just like that, the weekend is over. It swept me up in its enormous energy, and I rode the waves and let it glide me into a brand new week super fast. And just like that, my Monday is over as well. It was part of my weekend, or, at least it felt like it. I got woken up 4am this morning, only to hear the sound of one my clients asking for help. And although the call only took five minutes to resolve (yea, that's how good I am :p), I couldn't get back to sleep after that.

So I got up, got ready for work, headed out the door, only to find the car wouldn't start. So, after jump-starting the car, I got to the train station, only to find that I had to run to catch my train because it was pulling into the platform as I got out of the car. So, after this nice little mornign jog, I found myself squished amongst the many other travellers suffering my same fate: work.

The day flew. I was in and out of meetings all day, and talking to my clients all day long. I've decided. Next time I speak to them, I'm going to request that they pass onto my Director that I am doing a fantastic job fixing all their problems. Darnnit, that's the least they can do after waking me up at 4am :o)

And then to jump to a completely different topic: I panicked on the weekend. I woke up with a splitting migraine on Saturday morning. Got up, saw the sun shining, and the autumn leaves still that gorgeous marmalade colour in the backyard. I went to get my camera to take pictures of this scene, only to find my camera missing. How odd, I thought. I was SURE I had put my camera away. My other lens was where it should be, and so was the tripod. But no camera. Or spare battery. I went hunting around the house, thinking perhaps mum had hidden it from me. Nope. Nowhere to be found, and darnnit, it's not small either. It's frekking huge. Last culprit: maybe my brother took it. A quick call to him confirmed it. This wasn't the first time I thought I had lost something and he had taken it without my knowing.

A few weeks ago I went searching for the camera manual, and tore the house upside down looking for this tiny little green book. To no avail. Cathy hadn't seen it either, and I gave up after a solid week of searching for it. One night, I asked my brother out of the blue if he had seen it. He thought for a moment, and then said yes, he did have it, he thinks. Yes. He had been hanging onto it for a few weeks, but just reading it WITHOUT using the camera. The camera was with me the whole time.. I dunno how he could have actively learned anything from reading a manual plainly like that. It doesn't absorb into my brain unless I fiddle with the camera myself..

My life has been uneventful, actually. No stories to report. I learned how to play fuseball on the weekend. Oh my! I never knew it was such fun! It got really heated when Kad and Trinh really got into it by squealing everytime the ball went near their players. They were very excited.

Anyway, Jenny and Winnii slept over at Nik's place Friday night, and I heard the following conversation:

Winnii was in her trackies, and wearing this gorgeous little biege, woollen top with a nice boat neck, cut short at the sleeves.

Nikki: Is that what you're wearing to bed?!
Winnii: Yes.. Why?
Jenny: I would wear that top to go out in..
Winnii: Hey! This is the oldest piece of clothing I have! It's THREE years old!!
Nikki: Oh my god, girl. I would wear that to go out as well! It's gorgeous!
Winnii: It's old! Really, really old!!
Jenny: You know, when you finally give up that top and give it to me, I'll wear it on the street, and when people ask me what I'm wearing, I'm going to tell them I'm wearing my friend's PJ's!!

*shakes her head*

That girl goes through her clothes like there's no tomorrow. She gave me a gorgeous deep blue suede jacket that night. She bought it last month, or the month before that at the earliest.

Anyway, I think that's enough rambling for now. I should head off home now, or I'll miss my train. Until next time, this is Thuy reporting from her work station! Over and out!

  2. Sooo... you woke up at 4 am, and you wrote this topic just before your workday was over at 5 pm... How long are your workdays?!

And the second interesting question: what problem could be important enough to call you at 4 am?? And why was that customer awake anyway?

Anyways, the topic seems to be a bit more positive compared to the one of may 3td... That's promising!

    Cheers,
    Eric

  4. heyas,

Hmm... I forget that 'normal' businesses don't work outside 'normal' business hours - mainly 9-5pm + or - a few hours. However, my clients are predominantly transport companies, where they do most of their work at ridiculous hours.. Thus the 4am call - it's when the transport industry come alive :(
