The celloist !!

I went to Anna’s 30th birthday party on Saturday night. It was so good to see her again. There’s one thing I must gush about though: I’ve forgotten what an incredible cook she is. Oh my goodness. Such good food. Yum! Han-wei made a cake that had beetroot in it. A chocolate fudge cake with bits of beetroot. Interesting. It tasted great though.

I also met a celloist for the evening - Bonnie. Fascinating. I was fascinated. Absolutely fascinated. I don’t think many people know this, apart than Cathy, but the cello is my favourite instrument. Such a rich, deep sound. I could get lost in the sound. Heavenly. A great cello piece is Spanish Dance No. 2 - you can drown yourself in that sound; be swept away by that piece. I have never met a celloist before, so I was fascinated. I’ve always wanted to know whether the cello was a harder instrument to play than the violin, and Bonnie confirmed that it’s an easier instrument to play. That is, the violin is a very technical instrument, whereas the cello requires more upper body strength. And she would know because her two younger sisters play the violin. What a family.

Then she said that she teaches a lot of adults on the instrument. *perk* I am flirting with the idea of taking a few lessons. What do you think? My only constraint is time. Boo hoo. Work harder, play harder? I don’t understand how Winnii can keep up her hours like she does. Must dig her brain.

Anna kindly sent me a picture from the party because she knows I have no facebook! Thanks babe! So.. Anna, myself, and Bonnie!
