Got into the office this morning to see an invitation to attend a Leadership Development Program workshop. Nice way to start a Friday morning. I'm excited about it, to meet other young professionals within this organisation, but it also means I'm going to be chaotically busy in the next few weeks.
But every morning that I get up to go to work, it seems I am getting closer to my dream of working overseas. That dream has long been forgotten, because I always saw it as a side step, or a step back in my career, which I didn't want at this stage. But now. An eventual reality? Perhaps. It's too early to tell still. But maybe if I play my cards right, I could get a transfer to London or Amsterdam and work there for a year. Europe is where the real talent is, and if I could get to Head Office in Amsterdam, where all the big guns are, it would be amazing. And it wouldn't be a side step in my career either; it would be a move forward. Amazing.
Let's see how this plays out, slowly, slowly.
