I've been spending a few of my late nights blogging, thinking, trying to blog, not really finding the words to write. I can't sleep tonight. The rain is keeping me up.
I am running on a huge lack of sleep this week. Time in Sydney feels like a world away, really, it does. I stayed in Randwick this past week, and discovered some great little Japanese eateries. I'm even taking Garry there sometime soon.
This week, it'll be a short week in Sydney before I spend some time in Brooklyn seeing the team, handing over work, Christmas party, and packing up. I need to move my desk to Sydney, really. It's.. It's going to be sad. This rapid deployment to Sydney means I haven't really had a chance to farewell the BD team, and god, I've missed them. I heard stories that I missed out these past two weeks, and man, they were good stories. The guys get along so well in Melbourne, the practical jokes we play on each other. I miss that. Banksmeadow is.. Dead. Devoid of life. I actually have to whisper when talking on the phone - that's how quiet the office is in Sydney.
It's going to be a week where time flies. Need to shop early tomorrow morning - I mean, later today.
I've been speaking with a friend who's just broken up with her partner. It's been a messy ending, but thankfully she's ok. You know, it's one of those things where she can walk away with her head held high, her integrity and dignity intact, all the while with the ex acting pretty pettily and being quite immature. I know it's hard to be civil at times when you get upset and your emotions get the better of you, but I think she handled herself mightily fine in this instance. I'm actually quite proud of her. Very well handled.
I'm going to try and sleep again.
