Now that I'm a 'local' of Sydney... Hahahaha!
Well, not yet anyway. Still a visitor, slowly settling in. In my hotel room in Sydney, relaxing. I must say though - the Ibis in Mascot is SHIT. Do not book again.
Next week I'm staying in Randwick - a serviced apartment. Marcus at work informs me there's a great little Japanese restaurant close to where I'm staying - I'm going to check it out. Also meeting with one of his family friends who works as a property manager. Apparently finding a place in Sydney is like trying to buy a house - a dog eat dog world. Let's hope finding a place goes well...
I'm tired tonight - it's been a long day again. Too much work, not enough time. Never enough time, it feels like.
First night in Sydney last night for this role, and I headed into the city, around Darlinghurst, and went for a walk around the place. I must say, the streets of Sydney is prettier than I expected it to be. It kind of feels like North Melbourne, with the large acorn trees and the like, and more hilly than Melbourne. Garry tells me that's not even the pretty part of Sydney either, that I should check out North of the bridge. Even the trees are prettier there, he says. More colourful, brighter, warmer.. But maybe he's biased, because he lives there..
I saw a pretty cool building last night as well - a medical research institute. It looked just like in the movies. The interior of the building was shaped in the form of a DNA helix spiral. So clean. So sterile. So.. the opposite of my world. I saw the inside of a laboratory as well, and it looked just like in the movies too. Hehehe. Test tubes, gloves, things that looked like incubators, stools, lab coats.. Sterilised. It was clean. Clean. Clean. Quite interesting.
On a completely different note, I had a chat with Bronwyn last week. It went like this:
Bronwyn: Hey, so I need to get the important news out of the way first
Me: Sure - shoot
Bronwyn: I think I've found a fella for you
Me: .... I haven't even landed in Sydney yet
Bronwyn: I don't have much experience with this sort of thing (she's a lesbo), but I think he's quite handsome...
Me: Hahaha.. Ummm... Ok?
Bronwyn: Do you dig asian men? He's Malaysian.. but westernised..
Me: Yea, why not? But wait til I settle in first!
Bronwyn: Ok ok..
Me: ... Wait! How old is he?
Bronwyn: I dunno.. 29? 30? Something like that...
Me: Ok ok..
Bronwyn: Well, now that the important stuff is over.. let's talk apple...
Hehehe.
