James' farewell

It's James' last day tomorrow. He's accepted a role over in Perth, and tomorrow is his last day as my manager. It's a strange feeling, to be honest. He's been so good to me, so I'm definitely going to miss him. He officially starts his role on Monday in Perth. It's going to be strange not seeing him around Melbourne at all. He's in a pretty similar situation to me - moving to Perth for work for two years (initially), and then they will reassess after two years whether to come home, or stay in Perth. Very similar to me.

The team is slowing breaking up. There's been quite a few changes within the team this year; all internal moves, ofcourse, but still. Most of us are moving into an operational role: Banco leaving two months ago to move in operations, Richard moving to operations, Megan moving to Shanghai, Shona taking on James' role, and now James moving to Perth, and my inevitable exit sometime in the near future as well. Amongst all of this, we still haven't replaced any of the roles either, so it's going to be an interesting journey for whoever stays in the team.

The heat is gathering pace now, and it seems like ALL the engineers want the DE roles. They have all requested a one-on-one meeting with Craig, so I know they're interested, though they're playing it all down. I know for a fact Craig won't let them all leave, so it will be an interesting few months ahead who Craig will allow to leave. I also got word that Yan was upset that I was flagged for one of the roles, rather than her. Nicole's been avoiding her in case Yan gets mad at her for the whole thing. It's a tense affair! This should be called a drama show - The Office. Hahaha.

This is now annoying me. I've been coming to this site to write about something in particular, and I always remember whilst at work, but as soon as I come home - I'm *blank* I guess it's not really that important, then, right?
