I was in an awkward meeting this morning. The engineering team (my team) had a meeting with our director, and the operations VP this morning, to discuss a recent joblog that was advertised last week for a Development Engineer.
The operations VP started talking about the direction he wanted the business to take, and how exciting the DE role would be: we're going to recruit 7 x DE's, nationally, and one.. no, two (and he touched my shoulder when he said this), roles had been filled.
When he said that, I glanced at Craig, and he was trying not to laugh. I glanced at my work mates, and they were all staring at me. When Q&A time came around, the first question asked was, 'Which role did you take up, Thuy?'
Hmm.. There goes confidentiality.
Still waiting.
